Mantin culture

Mantin is a town in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It is under administration of Nilai District. It lies along the main road connecting Kajang and Seremban.


Mantin used to be known as the sand (Setul), there is a police station before Setul, it is the site of eight stone mantin town (Batu Lapan). Now find some called sand area in mantin still, such as Mukim Setul, Sungai Setul etc.. Previous mantin tin ore cause by a Chinese boss management, group called Guang sheng



Because here is rich in a lot of tin, so the Europeans call it Many Tin, which means there are a lot of simi. Because at that time from China to labour not accurate pronunciation, so in the course of time it evolved into Mantin.



















At that time, the British had brought a lot of dredger in tin mining, mantin economy also fly. Around 1890, a Sikh temple was built here. And a Catholic church built in 1901.
